ROVER
Say it like this
They added an extra guy out wide, so one linebacker walks out to cover that hole. Watch for the trick play going back the other way.
What can go wrong
Misdirection — buck sweep, counter, reverse — is what breaks a 4-4 against the Wing-T.
How we fix it
Assign a dedicated backside player to reverse/counter-cutback every single play, and drill the "PULL" call until it is reflexive.

Front shift
Walk Will (or Bandit) out over the wingback. The strongside End can reduce inside to a 7-technique with the paired Tackle bumping to a wider shade.
Coverage
Stays base Cover 3.
Gap changes vs base
- •On Belly-type plays the End short-sticks the B-gap instead of squeezing C, forcing the FB laterally into Will, who spills it outside.
- •On Buck Sweep, ILBs use a spoken "PULL" call the instant they read a puller so their eyes fit off the pulling guard instead of freezing.
- •Unbalanced or double-wing: re-set gap letters off the actual heavy-side center — the "NOC" (New Offensive Center) rule — and consider a hard front pinch with a strict "FB's toes, QB's heels, no deeper" penetration rule.
